It may look like another terrifying road accident involving a caravan … but British police suspect the truth is very different.

When officers came across this van in a riverside drain alongside a road in the English county of Cambridgeshire, they immediately posted photos of the scene on social media.

“Lost a caravan? We found one,” they tweeted.

Last month, a British garbage collector was astounded to find a caravan had somehow been put on top of a skip. The owner had apparently previously phoned the relevant authorities to check that caravans weren’t specifically named on the list of items prohibited from being dumped in skips.

Not thinking of saying “farewell” to our van just yet as we only purchased it second-hand last October 2014. Needless to say I am seriously considering a name tag of “Calamityville” due to all the mistakes and dramas we have had since starting our road trip. All of our own making of course and being absolute ‘greenhorns’ as to the workings of a caravan. Believe me there are myriads of things that need knowledge and patience, so don’t EVER think it is just a case of ‘hook up’ and off you go !!
