The dangers of taking even a short walk in remote country have been graphically illustrated by yet another terrifying incident in the Northern Territory.
An 86-year-old man from New South Wales has just been found safe after spending the night in the bush after getting lost while on a short stroll at Trephina Gorge in the East MacDonnell Ranges yesterday afternoon.
The man had been reported missing by his wife after wandering away from the popular camping spot.
He stumbled across a maintenance worker on a walking track this afternoon.
He has now been taken to Alice Springs Hospital for a routine check-up, suffering only minor injuries.
