A 64-year-old man has died after being run over by his own vehicle while trying to uncouple his caravan on the Gold Coast.
Police said it appeared the man had been trying to unhitch his van from a 4WD when the vehicle started rolling down a slight hill in Coomera.
A police spokesperson said the man tried to stop the vehicle, but it rolled over him and he was pinned underneath.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
How awful for his family. Dreadful thing to happen. Be extra careful out there guys !
Yes, I agree Steve so sad for this great grey Nomad, his friends and family. Being new to this caravaning game myself I am learning all the time. Find myself checking, checking and rechecking everything I do. Part of getting on in years has it’s darker side and my memory is not getting any better either. Safe travels everyone.

Am new to this site. We are ready to travel ‘travel ‘ soon ……We really do appreciate the comments from the grey nomads.
More than one person has been killed this way.
I myself nearly killed myself by chasing after my car was slipping down a hill.
Broke 5 teeth and broken arm.
Thinking back i was insured so should have let the car just go.
