The West Australian Government has unveiled a new voucher program, which it hopes will encourage more travellers to get out and about across the state.
Launched in partnership with Caravan & Camping Western Australia, the new Dream Road Trips: Explore WA voucher program offers travellers a $300 voucher for $200, providing a $100 saving to spend at participating caravan and holiday parks across WA.
The vouchers are redeemable until December 31, 2026, with the aim of driving bookings for WA tourism operators.
The vouchers are available to buy until the end of next month, unless they are sold out before.

This initiative comes in addition to the Kimberley Season Pass voucher program launched last week, which offers 50% off tours and experiences in the region to help drive more than $1 million in additional bookings this season.
The Government says the Kimberley and other regional destinations have been impacted by the rapid increase of fuel costs, with many of the towns relying on the self-drive holiday market.
Acting Tourism Minister Dr Tony Buti said it would help make a difference.
“Western Australia is home to incredible holiday experiences, and these initiatives make it easier and more affordable for locals to get out and explore more of our State,” he said. “Every trip taken by a Western Australian supports local tourism operators, regional businesses and jobs, helping strengthen our economy.”

My wife and I did the Gibb River Road / Kimberly region in late May this year.
Diesel was plentiful and the cost was marginally higher than we pay in Sydney NSW.
Very few travellers in the region at that time meant we had the pick of every campground/Station/Roadhouse that we chose to stay at.
My advice ?
If you want to do the Kimberly…..just do it !!
Don’t let a minor increase in fuel costs put you off….you could be hit by a bus tomorrow.
Life is too short for,
“if only”.
This just shows you how dependent this country is on fossil fuels. Fuel prices go up, less road touring.
But there are solutions coming, firstly hybrid 4×4′ some are plugin’s, which need to charge the batteries from a charger, some use the engine as both a generator to charge the batteries and supply motive power along with the electric motor when needed.
In the not to distant future we’ll have batteries that will deliver incredible range.
At the moment we have a couple who are going to do a figure 8 lap of Australia in an electric RV and learning along the way. Look up tasvanlife they now have a couple fully electric RV’s.
And remember that to be a Grey Nomad does not necessarily come with a caravan in tow.
