A woman has died and two grey nomads have been seriously injured in a crash south of Adelaide.
Police say a 4WD towing a caravan and a white Honda collided at an intersection at Kangarilla, 14km north east of McLaren Vale. The 32-year-old woman driver of the Honda was killed and the two South Australian caravanners, a 72-year-old male driver and his 68-year-old female passenger, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Major Crash investigators are examining the circumstances of the collision, which happened late last week.
Police say there have previously been other crashes at the intersection, which is on a blind corner and has speed limits of 80km/h in both directions.
Senior Sergeant Brendan Kenny told the media that there had been too many crashes on South Australian roads recently.
“This is a scene that has been replicated too many times, particularly in the last week,” he said. “What we would ask of our motorists, particularly as we go towards the long weekend next weekend, is that they exercise a great amount of care. Driving is one of the most dangerous things people can do.”
The South Australian road toll currently stands at 36, compared with 37 at the same time last year.
