A man has died after a head-on collision between a sedan and a car towing a caravan.
It is understood the two vehicles, the sedan and a grey utility towing a van, collided on Monday afternoon on Myrtlebank Rd near Sale in Country Victoria.
The sedan reportedly burst into flames before the fire was extinguished by emergency services.
Sadly, the driver of the sedan – who is believed to be a man in his 20s but who was yet to be formally identified yesterday – died at the scene.
The male driver and the female passenger of the grey utility were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officer in Charge of Wellington Highway Patrol Ellane Clarke said that the crash was still in its early investigation stage, with currently no dash cam footage received.
“We are hoping that members of the public have footage of a white statesman,” Officer Clarke said, “it was possibly travelling along Bengworden Road”.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash cam footage, is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
