OUR HOME
The stunning property is 63 acres close to Port Douglas, it’s secure and private. The main house will remain closed while owners are travelling. The self contained cottage is adjacent to the house and is available for the caretakers to live. There is room for a caravan near the cottage if someone is a travelling nomad and can use both facilities if needed. The pool is available to use. Light gardening duties would be around the house only. The pets would relocate to the cottage to be looked after. Lovely rural area for walking the dogs. Only 10 minutes from Port Douglas.
WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT OUR AREA Tropical, peaceful and quiet, unspoilt, nature, reef and rainforest on our door step. Lovely village town of Port Douglas / four mile beach. Lots of native animals on our property and great bird life around our dams. Very mild winter. Close to supermarkets. Elevated views over property and coast.

Port Douglas Rural Property ~ Pets and property caretakers wanted! April > August
We are looking for pet loving, reliable house sitters to help care for our beautiful rural property located just minutes from Port Douglas in Tropical North Queensland.
Our property is peaceful, private and surrounded by spectacular rural views, offering a relaxed tropical lifestyle while still being very close to town.
We are looking for suitable caretakers/pet sitters from late April to approximately mid-August, while the owners are travelling. The caretaking role includes FREE ACCOMODATION in a comfortable self-contained cottage, adjacent to our main homestead and pool. The cottage includes electricity, internet, parking and plenty of space, including room for a caravan, if you happen to be travelling nomads.
The most important part of the caretaking is looking after our three lovely pets who are very much part of the family: Photos attached.
• Peppa – our friendly Airedale Terrier who loves company and walks
• Frankie – a spirited rough-coat Jack Russell Terrier with plenty of personality
• Gabi – our affectionate tabby cat who enjoys attention and sunny spots around the house
All three are female, well settled and very happy at home (not fenced). They need care and attention, plenty of company and regular walks.
This sit would suit a responsible individual or couple, who enjoy looking after pets and helping on a peaceful rural property. Light gardening maintenance would be appreciated. Pool and overall property maintenance is provided.
The role is primarily keeping an eye on the property, caring for the pets, watering pot plants.
If you enjoy tropical surroundings, privacy and the company of friendly animals, this could be a wonderful opportunity to experience life near Port Douglas for a few months during our Tropical Winter.Our garden
Average – Light gardening, i.e. picking up palm fronds, watering pot plants. We have contract gardeners for the majority of the maintenance. The pool is also professionally maintained.
Expressions of interest close on the 1st April. References welcome. Caretakers would be required to have their own vehicle.
