A woman has died following a two-vehicle accident involving a caravan on Queensland’s Bruce Highway.
Initial police investigations indicate an orange MG GS wagon travelling south and a white 2014 Ford Ranger towing a caravan travelling north collided at Chatsworth.
The driver of the MG, a 41-year-old Tinana woman, died at the scene.
The sole passenger of the MG, a seven-year-old girl, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Gympie Hospital.
The driver of the Ranger, a 76-year-old from Valdora in the rural Sunshine Coast was taken to Gympie Hospital with minor injuries, and a single passenger, a 72-year-old woman also from Valdora was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with chest injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash which happened on Friday afternoon.
Police are appealing to anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage, including of the MG travelling south along the Bruce Highway around the time of the collision to come forward.
