The small rural town of Mundubbera (pop. 1500) will come alive as people flock to visit the inaugural Mundubbera Blueberry Festival, and enjoy all the offerings of the naturally beautiful North Burnett region. The festival promises fine food, a ‘Berry Big Day Out’, an Artisan Market and family fun day. Local producers, artists, crafters, community groups and food retailers will come together, and the overarching theme will be … blueberries. There will also be live music. Organisers say there are wonderful camping facilities available, and think grey nomads will enjoy the program. Incidentally, Mundubbera is home to the largest covered blueberry farm in the southern hemisphere, and October is when our blueberry harvest is in full swing and production at its peak.
