Yerhaai! The latest Grey Nomad Times fortnightly e-newsletter is here. Issue 38 discovers that Tassie – and the cost of getting there – is very much back on the agenda. It seems that, with free camping on the slide on the Apple Isle, some people are beginning to ask: “Where have all the grey nomads gone?” and “How can we lure them back?”
Last edition’s article on the sometimes sky-high price of using a public dump point sparked an avalanche of correspondence. We carry a two-page ‘Dump point letters special’, as well as the usual page of letters on all manner of other topics.
We also meet a couple who have sold up for a permanent life on the road, find out why smartphones are dumb, take a tour of the Blue Lake, and our resident etiquette experts gives a work-shy grey nomad a few home truths. And, of course, there’s our head-scratching quiz, http://www.thegreynomads.com.au website highlights … and in our Facebook fun section we discover that the iconic Pink Roadhouse is up for sale. Enjoy!

Why are these caravan parks jumping up & so much they cannot fit the bigger rigs any how the only thing they are doing is stopping money going into the small towns, then see what happens they just do not relise how many grey nomads are out there & if there prices were better as we don not need parks any more as most of the rigs are self contained. If we could stay in free camp 3 or 4 days we would buy fuel/ food / site see & have work done on our rigs if needed. These gov really do not get it & if we let the caravan parks win as we cannot afford to be staying in caravan parks all the time there will be know one out there.
I have for years been asking ..Do you think the caravan park owners and councils read the Grey nomad times and realize the frustration they cause with not putting prices at the entrance to their parks..
have yet to receive an answer on that one
