Steve says: No collection of photography on the theme of ‘power’ would be complete without a lighting shot, and what a beauty this one is! The size and intensity of the storm is incredible here, and I love the way the dark highest storm clouds contrast the rest of the sky. Seeing town below the storm offers a really interesting extra dimension to this shot. As well as balancing the colours really well, it perfectly frames man as completely dependent and at mercy to the power and forces of mother nature. Thought provoking stuff!
