Steve says:
The photographer has used the unique light here to compose a truly superb photo. He or she has caught the colour from the surrounding hills reflecting into the water giving the picture a surreal quality. Not that the pelican which forms the centrepiece of the image is too bothered about that. It’s a perfectly framed shot and the stillness of the foreground water and the colour-dappled texture of the water to the rear just add a new level of interest.
