The iconic Outback event – the Mundi Mundi Bash – is off and running on the Mundi Mundi Plains, about 35 kilometres north of Broken Hill.
Grey nomads are, of course, massively represented among the many thousands who have made their way to the shindig, which finishes on Saturday.
The atmosphere at the sold-out event and around the busy campsites is as convivial as ever, with organisers saying the festival stands for mateship, community, and a healthy dose of silliness on the red dirt.
Australia’s quirkiest charity event, the Mundi Undi Run has just taken place, with more than 1,200 festival-goers baring their brightest, boldest, and downright wackiest underwear for a good cause.

Organisers says that, from Baywatch to Bunnings aprons, minions to penguins, and everything in between, the creativity was off the charts as Bashers sprinted, stumbled, and strutted their way down the dusty track to raise an impressive $42,000 for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Steve Donovan, Festival Site Manager, Outback Music Festival Group, said the Mundi Undi Run was originally inspired by a 250-kilometre global desert race across four continents.
“But we’ve paired that back to a length everyone can have a crack at and added the fun of some wild costuming and an iconic Aussie location, and it’s become an event favourite,” he said. “It shows that this festival isn’t just about an incredible Aussie music line-up – it’s about the spirit of the outback and the fun, generous community that makes it all possible.”

As the Bash powers into its second official night, festivalgoers can look forward to another jam-packed evening under the desert stars.
Tonight there will be eagerly anticipated performances from 19-Twenty, The Chantoozies, Mi-Sex, Brad Cox, Birds of Tokyo, Missy Higgins, and Ziggy – 50 Years of Bowie.
And still to come will be Kasey Chambers, Kate Ceberano, Leo Sayer, Chocolate Starfish, Brad Cox, Rose Tattoo, Ross Wilson, Shannon Noll and many more.

What an amazing event. Superbly organised and run with precision. I’ve been to events before but nothing like this.
The music, the atmosphere, the camaraderie was so so good. This won’t be my first and only time here. I’m hooked
We arived inBroken Hill on Sunday, and never saw so many caravans.
