There have been two terrifying caravan rollovers in as many days on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast but, miraculously, there have been no serious injuries.
Yesterday, a van being towed by a vehicle on the southbound lane of the Sunshine Motorway near Pacific Paradise went over, shutting lanes and causing serious traffic delays.
A Queensland Police spokesman told the Courier Mail that it was believed the car towing the caravan lost control, causing it to wobble, jack-knife and flip.
There were no other vehicles involved in the incident which happened at about 10am.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman told the Courier Mail that paramedics treated a man in his 50s at the scene and he was then taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
The latest frightening incident comes just one day after a similar caravan rollover incident on the Bruce Highway near Nambour, also on the Sunshine Coast.
Both lanes of the highway were blocked following that accident.
But, most importantly, no serious injuries were reported and neither of the two people in the vehicle were taken to hospital.
I wish these reports of vehicle accidents stopped talking about “the car lost control”, “the truck lost control”, “the caravan lost control and…….”
They always get it wrong
The problem is that. THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF………
Blame the driver, not the car, caravan, truck etc
That’s where the problem lies
Here, here Paul. I’ve attended a lot of road accidents when I worked as an Ambulance officer. In only occasion did the car lose control and we actually witnessed it. Broken engine mount caused the throttle to jam wide open on a suburban street. Cars can actually fly! The other 400 or so were the fault of the respective drivers. Front end tyre blow outs are sometimes an issue that can induce an accident, but I never attended one.
I agree driver fault not caravan if you drive correctly and recognise your ability should be no problem
Reports state both were overweight and being towed by dual cab Ute’s.
